Faith and Action

From the Rabbi's desk. The will and purpose of HaShem does not always come without our active involvement. We can see the will of God working in many ways. Sometimes it works in isolation, but most of the time God works in partnership with his people. Yeshua conquered death, hell, and the grave but we still have to intercede and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. He paid the price for our healing, but we still have to pray and believe. He conquered sin, but we still have to strive in faith against ungodly passions. He gives us his promise, then partners with us to carry it out.

It is as if God is showing us that though he may decree a thing, the transformation that is needed comes only through our relationship with him. Sometimes we focus on our circumstances, bad people, or what we consider impossible. We elevate what we fear or resign ourselves to inaction, when God has called us to focus on him. Fear, doubt, and discouragement are negative forms of faith in their own right. When God gives his promise, it is an invitation to fellowship. If we seek him, we will find him, and in him is everything we need.

Love well, pray hard
