Pray Through

From the Rabbi's desk. Pray it through! Often trials and the promises of God run hand in hand. We will reap if we do not faint. There is a faith that God wants to cultivate among his people that is enduring and strong. Getting through the obstacles that hinder us is a primary function of faith. When we are afraid, our faith still tells us to advance. When we are spent, our faith tells us to hang on. When we are confused our faith directs us to God's word. Getting through, is a matter of praying through. The trials that strengthen our faith and the challenges we face may never change. Thats why God changes us. Faith is what bridges our carnal existence to our spiritual one. When we acknowledge our weaknesses before God and pray for his strength we tap into a heavenly help that can bring us through.

We may face a lot of risks, uncertainty, and out right dangers in America's near future. The answer is not in any man. It is in God's intervention. His will, as we have seen, can change the worst of circumstances. When we are reliant and submitted to him, his purpose will stand and flourish even when it is surrounded by wickedness. Pray for God's will, his time, and his plan. Make a point to pursue justice and act righteously in all things. HaShem still rules in the affairs of men.

While reading the perek yomi Tehillim (the daily Psalms) I was struck by Ps 107:28-30 which states:

So they cried out to Adonai in their distress, and He brought them out of their troubles. He stilled the storm to a whisper—the waves were hushed. They were glad when it became calm, and He led them to their desired haven. (TLV)

This really looks like a messianic prophecy, very similar to what Yeshua did. While I was rejoicing, I continued to read and was awe-struck about the sovereignty of God. He led Israel, kept them, provided for them, endured them, and even despite their faults, problems, and issues they still arrived at their intended destination. The sovereignty of God has always amazed me. His word is what will endure, not our failures. His will is what will prosper over the obstacles, closed doors, and obscurity many face.

If we will serve him and make him our sole focus, God will take care of our opportunities, opposition, and obstacles. When we are repentant and pure-hearted, we will hear him speak.
